Preservation of natural history wet collections: New ideas, New challenges
After the first PFC meeting organized in 2018 in Paris, this conference is a new appointment for conservators, curators and conservation scientists working on Fluids collections preservation.
Fluids collections are invaluable documents for research on both living and extinct species as well as species at risk.
Preserving collections in fluid is still a constant challenge due to new regulations on the use of chemicals as well as threats to the biodiversity. Collaboration between specialists is hence a key factor for the conservation of existing and new collections using science advances. The goal of this meeting is therefore to bring together all those working with fluid collections and to discuss the discoveries, progresses and current thinking around wet preserved specimens.
